"Here's Just Some of What You'll Learn at my Boot Camp..."

OK, OK. People are asking what I'm going to cover at my boot camp and so here's a peek (or more accurate, peak).

-----------------

If you're in a hurry, just scroll down and read the headings -- you may be shocked by what you see.

At least read my p.s.

 -----------------

Here's just some of what we'll do in two days at the Phillies old Spring Training facility in Clearwater, FL, January 5, 2008

(The Space Monkey's I mention are part of a special program I ran to get proof of what I'm saying. I've been so slammed with business and buying a new home I haven't had time to finish the project, but should this week.)

1.  Turn your Limiting Beliefs into Empowering Beliefs

You play the way you believe.

Believe me.

You play the way you believe.

Believe you can win and you can.

Believe you can't and you can't.

I'll train you how to remove limiting beliefs and "install" empowering ones.

I'll talk more about your beliefs below, but since they are the most important thing, I wanted to mention them first.

2.  Change your mechanics/make a technical change

Are you paying big bucks for lessons on your mechanics? Do you believe, like your instructor, that changing a physical habit takes a long time and oodles of repetition?

I used to think that too.

Not any more.

I'll show you how to make mechanical changes super fast. Just bring your desired technique a long ("I'm now doing X, but want to do Y").

I won't tell you what your mechanics SHOULD be (although after three years as a DI hitting coach and 7 years as a college head coach I probably could) but I'll teach you how to let go of your old habit and adopt the new one pronto.

Evidence: Space Monkey Coach Paul is a highly successful lesson coach, teaching dozens of players a week.

Last night he told me a story of how he'd been working with a young player for 10 sessions, but he couldn't get the player to not "bury his back elbow in his side when he swung."

But he then taught the player my technique for making mechanical changes and got better results in 5 minutes than he had in the previous 10 sessions combined.

"Amazing," he said. "I've just begun to try this and I'm getting tremendous results."

Coaches, if "tremendous results" making mechanical changes super fast is of interest to you, come to the Boot Camp.

(and by the way, players, if you have the throwing yips I may just cure that on the spot).

3.  Skyrocket your Confidence

I'll take you through my confidence boost protocol and give you the tools that put you in the driver's seat for feeling confident.

No more needing success to be confident.

Space Monkey Danielle said the other day: "I just feel confident now. It's sort of weird."

(The techniques I'm using don't require you to think about using them, they just work, below even your radar.)

4.   Turn your Nervousness into Excitement

How would you like to turn your nervousness into excitement?

Nervousness hurts your performance, excitement helps it (just thought I'd distinguish that for you...)

I'll give you several Space Monkey stories on that soon, but just trust me, this one is easy.

5.  Reduce or eliminate PAIN, and speed your recovery from an injury

"I was about a week away from shutting it down for the season and having surgery," a college pitcher told me.

Less than a week later he threw a nearly pain free bull pen.

"I'm astonished," he said.

I can't promise you I can heal your injury. But I know I can help it A LOT, and super fast.

6.  REALLY learn to play "one pitch at a time"

I'll personally make sure you walk out of the camp on Sunday with a rock solid, well-practiced, highly effective pre-pitch routine.

Sure, you can read about it in my (and Ravizza's) best-seller "Heads-Up Baseball," but there is no substitute for in person, hands on coaching that makes your routine rock.

(Plus, the stuff I'm teaching now FAR exceeds what we taught in that book. That book was written over 10 years ago and I'm a learning addict. That content is now more of a launching place rather than the main event.)

7.  Increase Your Flexibility

Yes, your level of flexibility is largely mental. More accurately, emotional.

I'll teach you (and you will experience) how to become more flexible (and less injury prone, quicker, more resilient).

8.   Remove the unconscious blocks you have to Success

This may be the biggest one of them all, but it may be the least s*xy. Why? Because if they are unconscious you don't know you have them!

But rest assured: you have unconscious beliefs that are limiting your effectiveness. We all do.

In these two days you will identify the ones crippling your game and transform them into beliefs that free you to be your best.

Are you one of those guys that would tell me: "I'm not as successful at a level equal to how hard I work"?

In a related item, you will...

9. "Clear" past Failures and the Beliefs you Created from them.

You've failed. You've choked. You've screwed up. You've lost when you should have won. You've had a big game you built up to and then crashed down when the key moment to perform came.

You know you've had these bad experiences, but you don't know how much they are affecting you now.

You know how when a baseball hits a guy realllly hard you say "That's gunna leave a mark,"?

Well, when you fail, get embarrassed, get disappointed, get really frustrated or mad, THAT LEAVES A MARK ON YOUR "EMOTIONAL BODY."

Time doesn't heal all wounds. If you don't "clear" that bad experience out, it will be an obstacle to you the rest of your life.

It may be unconscious, but that only makes it worse. It will be slowing you down and you won't even know it.

One Space Monkey last night was talking about that he'd played well over all, but one two batter sequence blew the outcome of the game.

He said, as sort of a throw away comment, "I can never catch a break."

If you are playing the game (or living your life) with THAT as an underlying belief, you are doomed.

You will be right: You'll never catch a break.

So like I said, I can teach you to clear out all your past negative experiences (and the negative beliefs you created from them that are now holding you back).

And will do so in this weekend camp.

With Urgency,

Dr. Tom Hanson

p.s. So, given that I'm so confident in what I'm saying that I'll bet my reputation of 20 years as as top baseball mental game coach on what I've said above, I hope you can understand why I'm blasting my trumpet about how I want you to come to this weekend.

I feel like it's 1980 and I'm telling you to invest in Microsoft.

What I'm teaching that weekend will become THE standard in baseball (and softball) in the next 5-8 years.

Do you want to be on the front end of this wave, or do you want it to wash over you first?
