"Play With Confidence"

Ex-Yankee and Ranger Mental Game Consultant Reveals Hall-of-Famers' Secrets to Developing Powerful Confidence, Focus, Composure and Consistency in Baseball

A Personal Message from Dr. Tom Hanson...

I'm Dr. Tom Hanson, and I'm on a mission.

My goals are for baseball players to be able to:

 HankAaron tells me how the mental game is the difference between a "good" and "great" hitter.  Listen in (2 min -- click 2x to play)   Get more great info in the "Gym."

1. Generate a feeling of confidence whenever they want, regardless of whether they’ve been successful or not;

2. Stay focused and composed under pressure, such as when the game is on the line or after a bad mistake and the next pitch is just seconds away;

3. Have fun playing baseball and feel great about their whole experience in the game;

4. Become powerfully able to reach their goals, both in baseball and in all other areas of life.

If any of those goals interest you, you're in the right place.

Who am I to set these lofty goals?

My entire professional life has been dedicated to helping baseball players be their best.

I have a Ph.D. specializing in sport psychology from the University of Virginia, I coached baseball for 16 years, (including 7 years as a college head coach and 3 years as a Division I hitting coach), I consulted with the Rangers organization for two years, and co-wrote the best selling book, "Heads-Up Baseball: Playing the Game One Pitch at a Time."

In 2001 I consulted full time with the Yankees organization.

Here's one thing I've learned: The bottom line in baseball is players need to learn to trust themselves.

They need to learn to free themselves up, get out of their own way, and "just do it;"  To be in the zone as often as possible, and to know how to compensate and adjust when they aren't in the zone (which even with mental training will be most of the time).

As you'll see on this site, I focus my efforts on the all-important coaches and parents as well as players themselves.

In order to learn trust from me you need to trust me.

So my "marketing" approach is to give a way lots of free stuff.   You may have already started receiving my free course, "5 Steps to Unstoppable Confidence," my special report, "Jeter's Confidence Secret," and my email coaching tips.  If not, get them now in the upper left corner of this page.

I've also got many other articles and audios on this site and in my blog.

Friends of mine are still arguing with me that I'm giving away too much.  But I know I need to get you to first base before you'll start to understand the awesome power that's lying dormant under that baseball cap.

Once you get a sense of what's possible through my free stuff, you may be ready to stop struggling and step forward to take control of the mental game by investing in my programs.

All success begins with your state of mind.

Player, parent, coach, parent/coach, whatever you might be, you will not be successful if your mind is not in the right place.

Success in baseball is not a mystery.  The mind of the successful player is known.  My mission is to not only get YOU to know it, but for you to be acting on that knowledge and playing, coaching, or parenting to your ultimate potential.

Best,

Dr. Tom Hanson
